Based in New Braunfels, Texas, Helical Forensics is a forensic DNA consulting company that provides trial consulting services in criminal cases to attorneys worldwide.

Helical Forensics specializes in consultations on violent and sexual crimes by providing services that include:

· Case review and evaluation in the areas of forensic serology, forensic DNA analysis, biological evidence collection

· Physical evidence examination (on-site at the local law enforcement agency)

· Trial consultation

Helical Forensics was founded by Dean Wideman (www.dwidema1.wix.com/forensic-profiler). Mr. Wideman is a forensic biologist and forensic DNA consultant. Before Helical Forensics, Mr. Wideman owned and operated NucleoGenix LLC, a private forensic biology /forensic DNA consulting firm that provided trial consultation services to attorneys worldwide for 15 years. Before NucleoGenix, Mr. Wideman worked in the forensic biology departments at the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office in Houston, Texas, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in New York City which provided him the opportunity to work and consult on violent and sexual crimes as a forensic biologist, criminal profiler, crime scene analyst, and bloodstain pattern analyst. During his career, both in the public and private sectors, Mr. Wideman has worked on criminal cases as a forensic scientist, investigative consultant, trial consultant, and/or expert witness.  He has been a forensic, investigative, and/or trial consultant on violent and sexual crimes, both civilian and military cases, across the United States and abroad including Aruba, Bahamas, England, Germany, Guam, Iceland, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, Saipan, South Korea, St. Croix, Turkey, and the Virgin Islands in the areas of forensic serology, forensic DNA analysis, bloodstain pattern analysis, crime scene investigation, criminal profiling, and crime scene analysis.
